Hi Don, Many thanks for getting in contact. If you have any contacts in Ghana or west Africa who wouldn't mind hosting a sweaty cyclist then please let me know. I will be visiting schools to speak about the journey and charity. If there are any fund-raising events that you're involved with over the next year then please do consider the Against Malaria Foundation. Peter

Thanks. Teatree Oil could be a useful addition to the First Aid Kit. I got completely soaked cycling back from Crewkerne - stupid of me not to have packed waterproofs!

Peter,

This will be an inspirational journey for a wonderful cause. All the very best for this adventure and in raising money for such a worthy cause. I'll be sending details to others in the Geography Department to support this.

Thanks for a super talk at the Crewkerne U3A. Like to point out that a bottle of Australian Teatree oil is great for cuts, bits, disinfecting hands etc. Also have you thought about carrying some homeopathic remedies for the usual stomach upsets etc. Any good health food shop would give advice.

Hi Peter, you've got a fantastic journey ahead of you. If you have any problems getting into Sierra Leone or Liberia then I'd recommend Senegal to Mali to Burkina to Ghana, I cycled most of that a couple of years ago. Blogged here: http://blog.gavinspittlehouse.co.uk/ (scroll down to Jan 2007)
Best of luck, Gavin
